Personalized Pencil Holder

This handy holder is great for school supplies!

You Will Need:
- Empty coffee can or hot chocolate container with a plastic fitted lid
- Construction paper
- Coloured pencils
- Marker
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Old magazines or a bunch of stickers
- Craft knife (WITH ADULT HELP!!)

What To Do:

  1. Measure the can size onto construction paper and wrap a piece around the whole container.  Tape or glue the edges together.
  2. Decorate the whole container with stickers, magazine cut-outs, and drawings.
  3. Have an adult cut small “X” shapes into the lid with the craft knife.
  4. Put the lid on and load it up with pencils, paintbrushes, ruler and other items!  A magnet on the side of the can will hold a couple paperclips too.

Backpack Buddies

Hang these on your backpack or share them with friends

You Will Need:
- Cardboard
- Pen or pencil
- Keychain or backpack clip
- Plastic jewelry cord
- 2 large foam circles (about the size of a toonie)
- Scissors
- White craft glue
- Wiggle eyes
- Feather boa or yarn

What To Do:

  1. Using one of your foam circles, trace a circle onto the cardboard and cut it out slightly smaller than the outline.
  2. Have an adult poke a hole near the middle of the cardboard circle.
  3. Cut a piece of jewelry cord about 12 inches long.
  4. Thread the cord through the hole in the circle.
  5. Put one end of the cord through your keychain or backpack clip.
  6. Line up the cord ends and tie a knot.
  7. Glue the foam circles to the cardboard circle, one on each side of the cardboard. This will hide the plastic cord and the hole.
  8. Glue wiggle eyes on to the front of a foam circle.
  9. Cut a piece of feather boa or yarn about an inch or so long.
  10. Apply white glue to the top of the “head” and glue feather boa to it.
  11. Let dry completely.
