Little Tyke Savers Club Account Little Tyke Savers Club Membership Application Swimming Safety There are a LOT of water-related accidents every year in Canada, many of them involving children. Sometimes, the accident is really awful and someone drowns. We need to work hard on water safety to prevent trouble in the water! - Always swim with a buddy. Young kids need to have an adult supervising them in the pool too. - Know your limits – and stay within them. - Swim in supervised areas only. - Watch out if you are too tired, too cold, too far from safety or if you had too much sun. - Don’t chew gum or food while swimming – you could choke. - Don’t eat a big meal before swimming, you may get a cramp. - Don’t run on pool decks. - Don’t play rough with friends around water. - If a sign says NO DIVING, there is a reason, so don’t do it! - Don’t try to compete with friends who are more skilled than you. | |
