Frequently Asked Questions

1. When is this change in effect?

As of December 18th, 2025, the branch will be open for appointments only.
Effective October 28, the branch will be open only Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30am-4:00pm (closed for lunch from 12:00pm-12:30pm).

2. Why is the credit union changing to appointment only for the College branch location?

We’ve noted a significant decline in member visits to the branch once we opened it after being closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.  Members found other ways to conduct their financial business including using other branches closer to their homes ,online banking, or our mobile app.  New accounts, registered products, and loans and lines of credit can all be done online, from applying to signing documents.  We can help our members via the phone, email, and even with virtual meetings.  As a matter of fact, most of the business conducted at the College branch is through these channels and not in person. As we strive to make life more convenient for our members, there are less reason to go into a branch.

3. What if I need something right away?

It is best to plan for any need so that the necessary arrangements can be made.  We understand that’s not always possible.  You can visit another one of our branches, You can also contact the Member Solutions Centre, and they will do their best to find a solution for you.

4. What happens to the employee currently working out of 40 College?

Our Financial Services Officer, Roya, will continue to assist College Branch members from our Toronto Branch location at 105 Gordon Baker Road, Toronto.  She is available by phone, email, and video conference, and will book appointments to meet members in person at the College branch.

5. Why appointment only? Does it not make sense to continue having someone in person Tuesdays to Thursdays?

We recognize that there are times our members need face-to-face discussions with our trusted employees.  That is especially true of more complicated financial situations, discussions for important purchases, or to get financial advice and help.  That is why we will continue to book in-person meetings.  The focus is to meet you when you need us and deploy our staff in a more efficient way.  It can be a challenge to cover the College branch when the financial services officer is not in.  By changing to appointment only, we can deploy our employees better to serve our members and improve the efficiency of our credit union overall.
