The Police Credit Union Privacy Statement

In order to protect our members’ right to have confidential information remain private and to comply with recent legislation, your Credit Union developed a Privacy Statement which reads:

The Police Credit Union holds personal information about members to help us meet and maintain the highest standards of financial service. This information can include your name, address, age, income, use of accounts and credit history, as well as the relationship of others linked to you in account services.

With your consent, we only collect what we absolutely need for the following purposes:

  • To understand your needs and to develop, offer and manage products and services that meet those needs;
  • To determine the suitability and your eligibility for member products and services;
  • To evaluate your credit standing and to share or exchange reports and information with credit reporting agencies;
  • To detect and prevent fraud, and to help safeguard the financial interests of the Credit Union and its members; and
  • To meet legal and regulatory requirements.

We may collect personal information for other purposes where we have a legal duty or right to do so.

Use of Products and Services

The products and services identified on this Website are available only to members of the Police Credit Union.

Confidentiality and Security

If you choose to communicate confidential information electronically, the Police Credit Union will accept your communication as your authorization for us to respond to you, including responses containing confidential information, electronically.

Password Security Issues

A password will be assigned to you by the Police Credit Union for the purpose of using the Internet (online) banking functions. The Police Credit Union interprets your password sign on as your written signature and holds you responsible for all transactions conducted with the use of your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any person not employed by the Police Credit Union and to take all necessary precautions to prevent any other person from learning your password. You may change the password assigned to you by the Police Credit Union, but in so doing you agree not to select a password that will easily identify you nor be easily traceable to you, such as your date of birth or your phone number. You agree that you, not the Police Credit Union, will be held liable for any and all transactions and/or losses created by loss of the confidentiality of your password. Please notify the Police Credit Union immediately if you become aware of any breach of security.

Accuracy of Information Provided by Internet Banking

Internet banking obtains its information from the Police Credit Union's banking system. If there is a discrepancy between information provided by Internet banking and the information existing in the Police Credit Union's banking system, the information in the Police Credit Union's banking system shall be deemed to be correct.

Fees

Fees may be charged for access to Internet banking. You will be notified of these fees and of any changes to them. You agree that these fees may be debited to any account you hold with the Police Credit Union.
